Call of Cthulhu scenarios and articles by Steve
Here are some of Steve's scenarios for Call of Cthulhu.
- Devil's Pool - Devil's Pool began life as The Lake of Mist, a short adventure that was published in Adventurer magazine. After Pagan Publishing's The Golden Dawn came out, I reworked it substantially as an encounter for that. (I have a fondness for adventures that link together.)
- Doomhunt - an unpublished campaign framework for The Stars Are Right!
- Fear of Falling - A short scenario published in The Unspeakable Oath #9.
- (The Original) Fear of Falling - Fear of Falling was originally submitted to Chaosium for their Fearful Passages book. It was rejected, and then I reworked it for The Unspeakable Oath.
I'm actually rather pleased that it was rejected, as the reworked
version is much better. This, however, is the version I submitted (and
this is the first time it's seen light since then).
- The Shadow over Sidmouth - my first published adventure for Call of Cthulhu, The Shadow over Sidmouth (a tongue-in-cheek monster hunt) was co-written with Rob Davey and appeared in issue 10 of Dagon.
And here are some of his articles.
- Kick Off: Starting Cthulhu - originally published in Games Master International
in May 1991. This is an article about scenario and campaign hooks.
("Hooks" would have been a much better title for it, but that's
hindsight for you.)
